How to light your barn conversion
This is something we are asked a lot in the lighting showroom. With barn conversions so popular and Bristol surrounded by country side we get our share of clients converting a barn. We have supplied lighting to a wide array of clients and have some great design ideas and products. We offer a lighting design service and work on 2-3 barns per month.
In essence there is no right or wrong way to light a barn in terms of style. While some people want to reward the old barn with a more rustic approach other people want to modernise the space and use more contemporay lighting and decor. This is up to you and we have worked on both and to be fair if done right they work. When asked to recommend lighting for a barn we do normally favour more natual lighting. So copper, brass and wood are popular. We have a great choice of lighting to suit this style and this can be viewed on the website or in our showroom. Below is an example of a lighting design we did in 2018 for a barn conversion in Thornbury.
We offer a full lighting design service and people find this a useful service as choosing and possitioning lighting can be a big challenge. Open plan spaces are the biggest hurdle. You are lighting three rooms in one. We can offer a great solution to this problem and have worked on many designs and projects over the years. Below are some links to some of our favoured lights used in barn conversions. These always get great feedback and really suit the charector and stye of a barn conversion.
These are all on display now in our Bristol lighting showroom.
