Vintage Style Led globe out now!
Posted on: 17 Nov 2014. Category: vintage lightingNow on the shelves our new 4 watt LED 115mm globe shape light bulb. These are the first LED vintage style lamps that will replace the decorative globe lamps. They have no heat sink, have a life expectancy of 25,000 hours and burn only 4 watts. We have both bayonet cap B22 and screw in E27 available. Please choose your lamp cap from the drop menu on the right.
This new concept in LED technology has meant we can closely replicate the decorative filament which is so popular at the moment. The thin glass strands which hold the LEDs form a decorative shape, similar to that of the incandescent filament lamps. On or off they do not look like LEDs and with the internal heat sink, meaning the glass runs to the cap, they look almost identical to the 60 watt filament globes.
These new LED lamps come with a 2 year warranty and are expected to last 6-8 years in a commercial application ( 50 hours use a week ) whilst saving you 96% in running costs.
This is non dimmable at the moment but we are working on a dimmable version.
We have made them super warm white, 2200k, so they create a beautiful amber glow.
They have an output of 350 lumens and a CRI of 80. They are an ideal for restored vintage lighting and shabby chic fittings. -

Create a classic style with Tiffany fittings
Posted on: 23 Sep 2014. Category: vintage lightingWith many things in life trends seem to go full circle through out time, We feel the vast range of Tiffany fittings can tie in well to any modern home as well as keeping a classical and period home suited.
Tiffany glass refers to the many and varied types of glass developed and produced from 1878 to 1933 at the Tiffany Studios, by Louis Comfort Tiffany and a team of other designers.
In 1865, Tiffany traveled to Europe, and in London he visited the Victoria Albert Museum, whose extensive collection of Roman and Syrian glass made a deep impression on him. He admired the coloration of medieval glass and was convinced that the quality of contemporary glass could be improved upon. In his own words, the "Rich tones are due in part to the use of pot metal full of impurities, and in part to the uneven thickness of the glass, but still more because the glass maker of that day abstained from the use of paint".
Tiffany was an interior designer, and in 1878 his interest turned towards the creation of stained glass, when he opened his own studio and glass foundry because he was unable to find the types of glass that he desired in interior decoration. His inventiveness both as a designer of windows and as a producer of the material with which to create them was to become renowned. Tiffany wanted the glass itself to transmit texture and rich colors and he developed a type of glass he called Favrile.

Vintage upcycled lighting new in stock
Posted on: 10 Sep 2014. Category: vintage lightingWith our many contacts in lighting we have found a source for pre 1970s vintage lighting. Most comes from old ships and cruise liners. We even have some 1950s chinese cargo boat lights and switches. We have added a new section to the site, see link, and will be adding these new and rare lights as we restore them. We have cleared a space in the warehouse and have an electrician working to bring these old vintage lights back to life, with brand new lamp holders, cable and chain. They are absolutly stunning and all one off. These vintage lights are a very popular look for trendy bars and coffee shops and we have been told our prices are very competative.
